Here the people who collect all the cans for recycling are taking a break. They are paid for them by the kilo, and it cant be much. They are very much accepted by all the people who come to the Plaza to relax in the evenings, and it means that the whole place is never littered with empty cans or anything like that.

San Gil evenings consisted of wondering down to the Parque, and socilising witht he rest of the world drinking beer from the little shop on 'Esquina Americana' (which incidentally had useful urinal facilities tucked behind the door!) Obviously showing off ones motorbike or car was an important feature of the evening for many of the locals. This picture was taken by a Dutch chap called Ton, whose camera had just run out of batteries... fine work.
